Disclaimer: As I’ve written before, the following post is a part of a larger series geared to air out more or less, ‘adult’ grievances and flush out underlying (as well as obvious) themes that I’ve found while watching these childhood movies over again.
*Please Note: I do not ‘blame’ Disney for any of my findings, as these are films based on very old fairy tales. However, as Disney has animated a vast percentage of these ancient tales, I will continue to say ‘Disney’ for continuity. *
*Also, not all cartoons animations of childhood fairy tales were the brain child of Disney, so I will attribute the production companies accordingly.*
It’s been years, y’all. But don’t think I forgot about this. And for our return to scratching our heads, let’s look at one of Disney’s messiest films, Sleeping Beauty.
This whole attempting to be consistent things is a lot harder than I thought, huh? I promise I’ve been thinking of writing to you all, but your girl has been so ACTIVE these days, it’s cray cray. However, I do have some juicy tidbits to share — if you’re interested. Come on, you know you want to…
I must begin this post by expressing my sincerest apologies for breaking my promise to double up on my post after breaking my promise to be more consistent. I left you guys for a whole month — and during San Diego Comic Con, too! I am ashamed of myself.
BUT, I am back. All (or most) of the distractions which kept me from you are (somewhat) behind me now and I’ve come bringing gifts, including some exclusive SDCC tidbits you probably didn’t even know about. Oh, and some pretty distressing news.
It’s Fri-yay and I definitely didn’t want to end the night without writing something new for you guys, as promised. So, I figured for today, I’d give you an NGC post about something new I’ve been doing: reading comic books! Continue reading →
I promised to have a post for you on Friday, and by George you’re going to get one.
Unfortunately, I fell asleep before I got a chance to watch The Hunchback of Notre Dame for my “Disney Headscratcher” segment. I also didn’t get a chance to watch and/or dissect a new trailers for upcoming movies for NGC, so you’re stuck with my first ever “Day in the Life” blog post. YAY! Continue reading →
I’m so sorry that I haven’t been at this writing business for months, but there were several things keeping me from chatting with you guys. However, I’ve made it a point to be better at posting — and I truly mean it. I do… really. I really do, you guys! OK… alright. Continue reading →
It’s nearing the end of the first month of the year and I’m officially back to bring you guys the latest in nerdy nummies. While some of this news isn’t so “new,” for the sake of this post, let’s pretend you haven’t seen it yet because I’ve got some feelings I’m ready to share. Are you ready? Cool, let’s get started! I’ve been MIA for quite some time taking care of a few life changes, but now that most of them are squared away, I’m back — and with perfect timing too because a crap ton of trailers are out and I’m in my nerd girl feelings!
First up, we have the Captain America: Civil War trailer.
We used to be best friends, >>> and I. I didn’t think anything of us being together, until I was about fifteen. I had just started a new year in high school and decided that I was going to “up” my appearance a bit. I got a new hair do, upgraded my clothing, and tried my best to be a bit more “outgoing.” He decided to do the same. He bulked up a bit after playing football at his high school and decided to start shaving more and wearing more form-fitting clothes. Continue reading →
I have no problem admitting that I am a 20-something-year-old woman who enjoyed watching all three seasons of Avatar: The Last Airbender (with a special love for Book 3: Fire), and am now watching it’s sequel/spin-off, Legend of Korra. Now, while the first two seasons of Korra — Book 1: Air and Book 2: Spirits respectively — didn’t fully meet my expectations of the franchise, I must say that this latest season, Book 3: Change, is shaping up to be amazing. Now it’s no secret how excited I was for this season. I spent almost an hour breaking down the EPIC trailer that was released, chock-full of bending goodness. But the last few episodes Korra‘s latest season, just made me realize how awesome this franchise is, when it introduced for the second time, a person with a disability accomplishing amazing feats.
