Hey, y’all!
I’m back!
I’m so sorry that I haven’t been at this writing business for months, but there were several things keeping me from chatting with you guys. However, I’ve made it a point to be better at posting — and I truly mean it. I do… really. I really do, you guys! OK… alright.
First up…
Can you believe half of the year is practically gone? It’s so crazy to me! There’s still a few things I’m excited for ie. le summer, which has several things I’m looking forward to: a few Marvel movies and Penny Dreadful!!
You guys already know I’m pumped for Captain America: Civil War as well as X-Men: Apocalypse. Whether I’ll get to see them in a timely fashion is another story, but I’m definitely willing to hand over my money like…
I just like my movie goer experience to be good, so if I gotta wait until something else is out to get a WHOLE theater by myself to watch my movie, then so be it.
I’m also psyched about the return of my favorite Showtime Gothic drama, Penny Dreadful. Season 3 was given fewer episodes this time around (boo), but you guys will still be able to check out my recaps with Black Girl Nerds as well as other goodies related to the show.
Moving on…
As promised, I will be resuming “Disney Headscratchers” series and first on the chopping block will be The Hunchback of Notre Dame. I can tell you already, it’s going to be a good one since I haven’t watched that movie in a looong time and I already have issue with the sexual undertones and religious persecution of women. See, I’m already getting started.
I’m also going to be working on my “Day In the Life” section and getting just a teensy, weensy bit personal with y’all. I know you guys don’t really come here for my life and all, but I’ve been told that I need to advertise and publicize my other talents/projects blah blah blah, so I’ll be making a better effort to do so there. Stay tuned!
And last but not least…
My TV-watching game is atrocious! As much as I shouldn’t be admitting to this (since I tell y’all what I’m watching and what you should be getting into), I have been failing miserably at my TV drama consumption. First, I left Scandal, then I fell out of love with How to Get Away With Murder, and I haven’t even finished Daredevil Season 1 or Jessica Jones. And when it comes to shows like Grimm (which was my life) I’ve been letting the DVR catch them for me.
I know, I’m a hot mess!
Though I can honestly say there are legitimate reasons (which will probably be discussed in ‘DITL’at some point) some of those shows being thrown to the side, for other shows I really don’t have an excuse. The bright side? I did watch both seasons of Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt and I have to say that ish is funny. You guys should probably tune in.
Other than that, I don’t have much else to dish. I recently learned a new way to make gifs, so expect a TON more of those in future posts.
I’ll be back on Friday with a new post. What it’ll be — NGC, DITL, DHS — I don’t know yet, but I’ll have something. I promise. And I promise not to go back on my promise. Pinky swear.
Until then, don’t be afraid to reach out to me (and keep me on my toes) on le Twitter.
