Hello ALL!
First, I apologize for my absence. For the past few weeks, I’ve been working on another project of mine which I was hoping to do a little bit better with all the energy that I’ve been putting into it. Now that the hardest part is over, I’m turning some of my attentions back to WRITING.
Now, back to reality: NANOWRIMO!
As most of you know (okay, maybe some of you), November 1st marks the beginning of National Novel Writing Month, affectionately known as NaNoWriMo. For thirty days, you are given the challenge of coming up with at least 50,000 words in a novel. Last year I wasn’t able to take on the task as I had been working full-time, helping out at home and was just exhausted. This year, I’ve decided to take on the task, despite the many hurdles I’ve already gone through (and will continue to go through).
My novel of choice? I’ve decided to move forward with Game of Hearts. Even though my novella and fantasy novel have a lot more words completed, Game of Hearts is completely mapped out in my head. It’s just a matter of getting words out.
Like I said previously, the progress isn’t going great. According to the website, I won’t be finished until January at this rate, and in order to finish on time, I’ll have to pull out at least 3,000 words a day. That’s like…a shit load of pages! lol
BUT I’ll prevail. Even if I can’t submit my completed novel to the contest, I’ll complete something before this year ends. I have to. At this point, I need to complete some literary goal, otherwise, I’ll always feel like, well…a bit of a failure.
I’ll keep you abreast.
